About the Owner

Hello! and welcome to Little Ridley Baby Company!
My name is Alicia Gaudet, and I’m a 31 year old stay at home mom of one, and a dog, in a small town in Nova Scotia, Canada! All of my life I’ve had a deep passion for animals and nature. My family and I spend lots of time outdoors admiring, discovering and learning about the world around us.
I have a rich background of animal and wildlife rehabilitation that started off with my passion for animals as a young child. From a very young age I've always been passionate about helping animals in need and giving them love.
During my younger years, I have rescued and saved animals and wildlife at home by doing things such as; taking care of injured snakes, relocating mice, reviving and releasing weakened bees, rescuing squirrels with injuries, moving turtles out of the road, providing shelter and food to feral cats, etc. As I grew older, my interest in animals, wildlife, and nature just kept growing. I did some schooling for veterinary technology, I've worked at the local SPCA animal shelter as a vet tech, as well as at Hope For Wildlife rehabilitation centre. During these experiences I have had the privilege to work with lots of different types of animals such as; squirrels, skunks, snakes, rabbits, cats, dogs, Canada geese, raccoons, owls, crows, seagulls and other birds, seals, deer, eagles, turtles, foxes, and many more! It brings me so much joy to be able to help animals in any way I can!
Since Having my son, I started off with a handmade clothing business and used organic cotton and bamboo materials. Seeing the love of the natural and sustainable fabrics has pushed me to pursue a slightly different career path in order to provide larger quantities to all of the great families out there.
Little Ridley Baby Company is named after the endangered Ridley sea turtle. With this company I hope to be able to bring awareness on some of the endangered species of the world. My goal is to be able to help spread awareness as well as help raise funds for some amazing preservation foundations in Canada and around the world as well. This company will focus on providing comfortable, skin friendly pieces with the earth and your family in mind. We are currently taking measures to ensure that our products are made sustainably, and delivered to you as eco friendly as possible with compostable and eco friendly packaging, seed tag labeling, and we are currently also partnered with One Tree Planted to help plant trees where they are needed around the world.
I am so excited to be starting this journey, and I really hope you will all join me in creating an amazing community that is committed to making a difference! Thank you so much for being here, and I cannot wait to see what the future brings!
- Love Alicia & the Gaudet family
